ACOUSTICS
Good acoustic engineering
dramatically improves the quality
of people's experience of their surroundings, and is becoming increasingly necessary to meet stringent noise-related legislation.
Acoustics engineers operating
from our offices internationally provide
an expert and technologically advanced
service in this growing specialism.

We work with architects, developers, local authorities, industry
and transport authorities on issues of external and internal noise
transmission, providing consultancy, design support and documentation.
Where liaison with third parties is involved, we often take an active role
in representing our client to the relevant authority.
Our highly-developed aural modelling capacity facilitates clear communication of acoustics-related issues for all parties involved. We frequently provide complete auralisation scenarios that powerfully and accurately represent the acoustic behaviour of a proposed space — and demonstrate the varying results
of a range of possible designs.
At project planning stages, our input augments the in-house service offered by our colleagues in environmental consultancy. We quantify and demonstrate noise-related challenges, such as site proximity to roads, railways or industrial activity,
and identify a variety of solutions within project scope.
The acoustic design of conference rooms, television studios and broadcasting facilities has long been part of our remit. However, while many sectors — including schools, housing and industry — increasingly use our help to ensure compliance, our clients also appreciate the significant difference we can make to the design of high quality buildings of all kinds. Public awareness of noise is acute, and open plan offices and residences in particular derive commercial benefit from
skilful acoustic design.
