Recent work includes the development and innovative use
of advanced and composite materials, contributions to tidal and wind energy projects and advances in the design of tall buildings, to name a few. As well as construction and environment, we have worked for the shipping, energy, automotive, agricultural, communications and aerospace industries.

The team uses extremely advanced computing systems to constantly enlarge its understanding of what is possible in terms of materials, process and result — even for the simplest products. We are involved in developments as varied as the design of ocean craft, industrial underwater lighting and everyday street furniture, all with the overall remit of deriving increased value on behalf of our clients. Inspirational thinking is rooted in a highly commercial sense of priority.

The work of the advanced engineering team supports cost-saving refinements to engineering design — for example, in the saving of materials — and increases the range of costed options we are able to produce and the speed at which we produce them. Predictability is tightened, greatly improving the efficiency with which projects can be completed.

At the earliest stages, the team's input strengthens planning through the creation of scenarios that are both vivid and unusually robust – particularly in the incorporation of measures for long-term sustainability.
